Varial Acquires Collision Hosting

We are pleased to announce our acquisition of Collision Hosting, a small U.S. firm that offers shared, reseller, and dedicated hosting, as well as domain registration and CDN services.  Collision Hosting customers will be immediately transitioned into our Varial Hosting brand and existing contracts and pricing will continue to be honoured.

We would like to welcome the customers of Collision Hosting into our family!

This post will be updated with more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE #1: We have begun transferring accounts from Collision Hosting’s servers over to our own.  At this time we do not recommend that Collision Hosting customers update their websites until this process is complete.  Once all accounts have been copied over we will update Collision Hosting’s name servers to point all domains to our servers.  Your domains should then begin to resolve to our servers within 24 hours of this change.

While the hosting accounts are copying over to our servers, we have begun importing Collision Hosting’s customer data into our billing system.  You will receive an email with information on how to log into our billing system once your account has been created.

UPDATE #2: We have finished transferring over all hosting accounts to our servers and have just updated the dns1.collisionhosting.com and dns2.collisionhosting.com name servers to point all domains to our servers.  Please allow up to 24-72 hours for your domains to begin resolving to our servers.  If you are using a 3rd party DNS service and are not using Collision Hosting’s name servers you should point your DNS to the IP 64.15.130.213 unless you have a dedicated IP address, in which case please contact our Support department for more information.

Collision Hosting customers are still being migrated into our billing system.  We will post an update when all billing accounts have been created.

UPDATE #3: All Collision Hosting customers have now been imported into our billing system and their hosting accounts transferred over to our servers.  The Collision Hosting website has been taken offline and now redirects to our Varial Hosting website.

    Congrats on the acquisition!

Does this mean that Varial is growing in size? Will this have any positive or negative affects on current customers?

Thanks, Collision Hosting was a small company so we’ve just acquired a few more customers. This acquisition will not affect current customers at all.
